Selection Process
We're looking for high calibre individuals with the ability to lead the business in years to come. In order to select only the most exceptional candidates we are utilising the same leadership selection framework we use for our most senior people.
By applying this to the way we select and develop graduates we can ensure from the very outset we have the people who have the potential to go all the way to the top.
We are looking for strong graduates who have a particular passion for working in the finance industry, regardless of the business area they are applying to, and who have good insight into the commercial markets Lloyds TSB operates in. Successful candidates will also need to demonstrate they have the drive and ability to lead others, to manage complicated projects through to completion, to analyse complex data and information to reach decisions and to develop in depth relationships with our customers. At all stages of the process your oral and written communication skills will be assessed to ensure you have the ability to make a strong personal impression on others and gains clear agreement and commitment to your ideas and recommended actions.
These assessments are critical not only to ensuring we select the very best candidates who have what it takes to become our future leaders in specific areas of Lloyds TSB but also to make sure you are ready for the challenges that you will be faced with on the Lloyds TSB graduate programme. From your very first placement you will be tasked with business critical projects giving you real responsibility from day one. You will be working alongside senior business managers who will be looking to you to deliver outstanding results. Our assessments are designed not only to spot the potential for leadership in you but also for you to get a feel for whether this is the right programme for you.
The steps you will go through in the selection process are:
- Online application and questionnaire
- Online verbal and numerical test
- Telephone-based assessment
- Final stage selection event
If your application is successful, you'll be invited to attend a selection centre between October and January. The selection centre is in two parts. The morning will consist of verbal and numerical ability tests and a group exercise. Only candidates who perform to the required level in these assessments will then be asked to stay for the afternoon session consisting of one-to-one exercises and an interview.
If you are one of the candidates who excel at the selection centre, showing us you have the exceptional potential we are looking for, we'll contact you within 3 days of the Selection Centre to start discussing your career with us at Lloyds TSB.
We'll send you an offer letter (subject to references and confirmation of your degree class) ensuring you'll be ready to start in September 2009 and begin your exciting career journey with us - and your stratospheric rise to success.
